Who we are

Harmony House is Ottawa’s only second-stage shelter, helping women and their children flee from violence. As the only second-stage shelter in Ottawa, we greatly depend on the community’s and donors’ support to offer our services and keep our doors open.

Two-thirds(65%) of people in Canada know a woman who has experienced physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. In Canada, a woman is killed by an intimate partner every six days. Over the past 38 years, thanks to the programs and services provided by Harmony House, thousands of women and children have broken free from violence and live independently. Harmony House dedicated team collaborates with community partners to provide essential support, raise awareness, and create a safe environment for survivors to rebuild their lives.
